My first Ki Stephens book and I thought it was good. I was hoping the mmc was gonna be a bit more swoon worthy for me but his lack of confidence got to be a bit much at times. It also felt like they weren’t together a lot which made sense for the plot but created an unnecessary feeling of distance between them. I really liked Harper and her ability to stick up for herself in a variety of situations. Good spice that starts about halfway through. Pretty average amount. Great dirty talk!

minor spoilers!!

i loved this book so much! i was really cute, harper and luca were one of my favorite book couples! it is fake dating and girl falls first but boy falls harder!

the only reason why i’m giving it a 4.5 is because of the third act breakup. that was the only thing that kinda ruined it for me but other than that i really loved the book. it got me out of my reading slump!

3.5/5 cute. But I need more angst and jealousy. Their relationship is too healthy for my taste (yes I’m toxic af

for me

The majority of this book was awesome for me. I loved it until near the end. The third act break up was so annoying. For one I’m getting tired of every book have a third act break up that is so predictable but whatever. Now it was like a four star for me until the break up. The breakup kind of ruined it for me. I hated how the guy acted, he had horrible communication skills but he did go to a therapist and he was doing better. I will say it was a more realistic portray. Which is nice but at the same time I’m like eh. If you know what I mean. The epilogue time jump was huge. I was very shocked. Like they were barely back together and bomb five years later. I wish we saw more of a friendship between the couple. Like besides the guys injury they didn’t really hang out like we didn’t just get a conversation of them getting to know each other. Like to me it seems like it was either about his injury or sex. Now I will say it wasn’t bad. I think overall it was a average book but did slightly disappoint me. I do think it is slightly overhyped. Like I was expecting so much and people talk about how obsessed they are with the guy and for me it’s eh. Like at most I like him but I’m not even close to obsessed with him after reading the entirety of the book. I think in the beginning I can kind of see that but not after everything. I know don’t if I would recommend it, it would depend on the person. I’m not sure if I would read other books in this series assuming there is going to be more. Overall the book was good but disappointing and just average. 3/5
