My first Ki Stephens book and I thought it was good. I was hoping the mmc was gonna be a bit more swoon worthy for me but his lack of confidence got to be a bit much at times. It also felt like they weren’t together a lot which made sense for the plot but created an unnecessary feeling of distance between them. I really liked Harper and her ability to stick up for herself in a variety of situations. Good spice that starts about halfway through. Pretty average amount. Great dirty talk!
Graphic: Toxic relationship, Classism, Sexual content, and Toxic friendship
Moderate: Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Biphobia, Drug abuse, Ableism, and Vomit

This book was a roller coaster of emotion. I liked the first 30% of the book because of the Harper’s background in sports medicine. I found it very fascinating and the way she took the time to help Luca was sweet. The sport medicine piece kinda fell off after the half way point along with the plot. It was hard to read because of Luca’s character. He’s permanently grumpy throughout the book and doesn’t change until the end. There was no character development in my opinion. I wished the writing in the beginning was carried through the remainder of the story.
