Alright, I get the hype. While a dark romance/fantasy, Raven Kennedy has put together a masterpiece. I could have used stronger character development, but I expect that will come as I continue the series

I'm not sure how this is romance. It was just misery.

I started this re-read in preparation of reading the 4th book in this series and I enjoyed it a lot more than I remembered.  I think the amount of trauma and triggers might have taken me off guard the first time making it harder to stomach at parts.  It may have been because I knew what was coming that I was able to enjoy it more this time.
I understand why some readers say this book feels unnecessary and uneventful, that the series could easily have begun with book 2 but I really enjoy the world building here and do think it’s important to setup events that come later in the series.  I also think it’s important that we’re able to see Auren’s perseverance and strength in such difficult circumstances.

So I went into this book with no knowledge of what it was about or what would happen. I have been hearing great things about this book for a while now but nothing could have prepared me for how amazing this was. Personally, it's not like anything I've ever read before. And as soon as this review is posted I'm going to start Glint. I 100,000% recommend this book. I can't wait to see where this goes. I'm honestly so shocked and I have so many questions. This book evoked so many emotions. I was and still very angry at a lot of the characters for the cruel ways they treated Auren and other saddles. I cried and laughed. (Also I want to say that I don't think that this book is a sure way to make you cry or anything. I tend to be an emotional reader. However, I do think that even if you aren't as much of an emotional  reader as me this book will still bring forth the strong emotions.) So stop reading reviews and READ THIS!

This book was extremely dark & slow at times but the plot was fascinating and the twist at the end really surprised me. Though there were some things that disturbed me, overall, I do want to find out what happens next.

y/n put her golden hair up in a messy bun, gold mascara on her gold eyelashes, and went downstairs in her golden cage to find out her owner king midas SOLD her for DRINKING MONEY (or war things idk)???? plus .5 points because the cringe was funny at times, minus 4.5 because no one direction. you could get it for free on wattpad

there is a man named king midas who turns things to gold and that is all the greek mythology involved. not any sort of retelling.

The book was a very fast read once I finally decided to pick up the book. The story is very interesting and I’m excited to see where it goes. I did not expect it to depict violence/death so vividly but overall the book is a strong start to a series.
