I received an ARC through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!

The opioid crisis is one that touches everyone, really. I monitor myself when I'm prescribed any kind of pain medication to make sure nothing happens to me. I work with patients who have struggled with various addictions. And this book is sad because it does show the part doctors play in this problem. Dr. Li might have been prescribing in good faith, but he caused damage to these people. He kept prescribing to people who clearly were misusing pills. Bismuth did a really good job of outlining the story and I loved how she told the story. Within the chapters were sections that were about days in trial and times before trial. Not only that, but it was part memoir about her journey and the things that happened in her life that got her to that case and things that happened during the investigation and trial. Just an excellent new true crime/legal book!
