Loved this. Ending wasn’t quite what I was expecting but loved the book - and most characters.
It took a VERY long time for this to turn into a page-turner, where I didn't want to put the book down (probably the last 150 or so pages).
Most of the characters had no depth or warmth and pretty much all the key players were somewhat (if not completely) unlikeable.
So much navel gazing for so long before anything interesting finally happens. Could have done with shrinking the start significantly and fleshing out the second half a LOT more.
Doesn't particularly inspire me to try others by the same author.

This one took me WAAAY too long to finish. It was an okay story, but I had to force myself to finish it. The characters were very one-dimensional.
A little slow to get through but I loved the wide range of characters and unexpected plot twists!
Not sure what to track this as! My hotel had this, the Bible, and Outsmarting Cancer, so I picked this one. I read the first 200 pages and then skimmed the last 200. I liked it in the same way I like How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days or 27 Dresses.

Found myself laughing along. Gentle humour. Lisa was an unlikeable character who redeemed herself a little by the end. Ashlings character deserved the happiness she found. I enjoy these books and often found myself reading when I should be doing something else.

Reread, since I couldn't remember anything from the 1st time I read it in 2004.
Didn't rock my world, not a very big result from Marian Keyes but it's the kind of book that you can pick up at any given time and it will entertain you without making your head spin.
