It's okay but it wasn't as good as his other stories. I guess it's time to end my Murakami Era.
Has Murakami died, and a ghost writer taken over? While that would be appropriate, it's not funny. I want my Murakami back. IQ84 was the beginning of the end, and slogging through this one was tough.
I think the worst part was the repetitiveness - of describing scenes, conversations, and thoughts of the narrator. It got so bad toward the end that several chapters started with the same sentence that ended the previous chapter. This was not published as a serial, to my knowledge - so does Murakami or the editor think we are dumb and not able to recall what we just read?
I'm almost ready to give up on one of my favorite authors. Perhaps just go back to reading his older works and remember him in his glory. My friends, you will not miss anything if you don't read Killing Commendatore.

Haruki Murakami is my favourite autor as controversial as he may be and Killing Commendatore has potential to become my favorite book tbh... Depends on the second volume! We'll find out. This one was great, though.

I really liked this book. It's amazing how uneventful yet interesting it was. Almost half the book consisted of an artist just staying in a house. As usual the book suffers a bit from Murakamis hornyness.
