adventurous informative inspiring mysterious reflective relaxing slow-paced

I'm a huge fan of Murakami. His work is deep & philosophical, about where so many things happen & yet nothing really happens. A slice of life story where all the characters are changed except the main character. The MC changes but in most ways doesn't & resumes their normal life. He has one big adventure & is ok with his mundane life. I love the concept of a world of presence & absence where ideas help navigate us through life & metaphors are our inner evil selves.

A little repetitive, but overall a rather engrossing story. Worth reading for Murakami fans.

getting on the second part soon… now am feeling intriguing, i wouldn’t say that much happened on those pages, but it got me excited. also, was an easy read, and i rushed to the store for the second part, so its a good sign.
love how murakami explained the relationship of the artist to their creation, how another word opens up for an artist while creating!

i have a love-hate relationship with murakami at this point.....ALSO idk how to explain this but I'm totally okay with his thin books. they're easy read, no problem. however some of the books which is more than 600 pages are some kind of a trap. you don't read them you're trying to find your way out of them. his books capture you and you try to escape. it's definitely not a peaceful read even though i enjoy the book

800 pages of mostly nonsense but die hards like me just keep eating it up. A busier, clunkier re-hash of the Wind Up Bird Chronicle. But if you’re a fan, you know you’ll read it. His books have a calming effect on me. As long as I don’t try to make sense of them.

You already know if you’re going to read this though. You probably don’t need a review.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I keep coming back to Murakami books for the experience, not the plot. Brilliant passages, confusing as all fuck story, but I wholeheartedly believe that’s the point. And dammit I enjoyed it.
