DID NOT FINISH: 52%

200 pages in and still nothing happening, just talking to witnesses that don't add anything to the plot or moving the story forward. Couldn't bring myself to finish this book.

I’m not sure what I think about this one. I don’t mind mysteries that are hard to deduce but this seemed a little unearned.  The new recurring character is interesting and as always Ann Cleeves does a good job with the details of various personalities.  Her Vera novels set the bar really high so in comparison this one didn’t feel quite complete.  Still great and I enjoyed reading it.
