This was very cute. The baddie was a little stereotypical and the responsibility placed on a young girl was extensive. But it is a nice story about grief and friendship.

Beautiful art and a beautiful story. This is such a great middle grade graphic novel looking at grief and ghosts and death. I can see why this is so popular! Thummler's characters and great, and the whole ghost story is so unique. I loved the concept.

The art in this is stunning! I LOVE the colour palette, and how the colours functioned within the story. The story itself was beautiful, but the art really lends itself so well to the telling of the story.
This story felt like it was layered in a way that wasn't necessarily in your face, but made you FEEL as you read it.
It's about the loss of a parent, and the loss of a life. It's about the pressures of living and the pressures of fitting in. It's about holding on when letting go would be so easy. It's about friendship and family and nostalgia. And it's all mixed into this adorable yet intense 'ghost' story.
I flewww through this. I could not put it down. If you are a graphic novel fan, I highly recommend this one.

Wow, this book was phenomenal. I've read several middle-grade graphic novels with the theme of the main character meeting a ghost and the ghost helps them through a problem. But, this was my favorite one by far. It tackles grief so well and the illustrations are stunning. The use of pastel pink and blue was excellent and really flowed well with the story.
Just a minor complaint that I had was that Marjorie is 13-years old running a laundromat by herself which felt really unrealistic since the customers gave her so much trouble. Also, the author didn't give any indicator to the time period yet I know this story isn't present day because of the clothing and house interior.
I definitely want to re-read this in October, it's the perfect book to read in Autumn.
