i liked the illustrations for the most part, the diversity/inclusion, and settings but overall, i didn’t like the characters, specifically kendra, or the story. i’m not sure what lesson young readers are supposed to take away from this story.
forgive those that that ignore you, take you for granted, and accuse you of tampering with a space ship?

Grace lives in a space station with one of her moms who is an engineer. She can't wait to see her ba, Kendra, who is a space captain. She's super cool and even has her own ship! Grace has been waiting for a long time to go on vacation with her. She has plans and wants adventure! But once they're in space, Grace realizes that this is not the vacation she thought it was going to be. Her mom is working all the time and Grace is not having fun. She decides to go off on an adventure and have her own fun! However, this ends up badly for Grace and she ends up grounded. Although this story takes place in space, it deals with very real life situations. I think the tween audience will enjoy reading this and they'll be able understand some of what Grace is going through. Also, the illustrations are amazing.

Read this so I could do a book talk for a library presentation. This is maybe only my 2nd graphic novel ever. I really enjoyed the art but the story made me sad most of the time: I felt bad for grace being left alone and sad floating in her room.
