The Isis Collar has everything I've come to love & expect from a Cat Adams novel: plot lines that spiral ever further into absurdity, gratuitous grammar, punctuation & consistency errors, and ferociously bad dialogue. Will not disappoint fans of the series!

I really enjoyed reading about Celia and her friends. Strange but I feel like not much happened compared to what went on in the other books. Celia is an interesting and likeable character despite of (or maybe because of) her issues. I'm looking forward to getting to know more about Creede (I hope in the next book) and the other characters.

Celia Graves is a half-vampire, half-siren bodyguard who gets herself into a predicament when she tries to save a school filled with children from imminent disaster. When she fails and a magical bomb goes off with her and the children in the building, there initially does not appear to have been any effect. But as time goes by, Celia realizes her vamp power is not healing a bruise that formed on her leg after the bomb, and she has a killer headache. And so the story begins.
Celia teams up with Dom Rizzoli from the FBI as well as John Creede, Bruno, and a few other friends to try to figure out the bomb's purpose, its creator, and its intended effects. It's a wild ride and Celia can't seem to be able to catch a break (as usual). But, as expected, the Cat Adams duo continues to keep this series fresh and interesting.
This is a great series, and I highly recommend it. Celia is one of my top heroines--she is as fearless and protective as Gin Blanco (from Jennifer Estep's Elemental Assassin series), and also just as likable. I can't wait for the next one!

This one drug for me. But I still enjoyed all the characters tremendously. Celia has her hands full, and what's up with that crazy bruise on her leg that won't heal? She is a vampire right?

I recommend this book to Urban Fantasy lovers out there, and zombie fan addicts.
Don’t get me wrong…I’m a huge fan of “The Walking Dead” on AMC…but reading about zombies is another story. Maybe later on the zombie reading will grow on me…but I need my romance and more action packed storyline. I’m used to Celia kicking butt.

Well that was disappointing. This book did nothing to advance the series. There was no character development and the love triangle doesn't make any sense. Bruno and Celia's personal goals and priorities don't match so a relationship would never work, yet the authors seem determined to force the triangle.
The virus aspect was left undeveloped and annoyingly vague and didn't fit the plot style of the rest of the series with the exception of Graves getting kidnapped yet again. I'll give the next book a shot at redemption, but this one may have killed the series for me.

For me, this is one of those series that you can count on to get a good, solid and entertaining read. Like the other books in the series, The Isis Collar has an action-packed plot and a group of interesting characters that you enjoy reading about. The problem for me was, although I didn't get bored reading it--because is IS a good storyline, it didn't excite me quite as much as the previous books either. The writing seemed a bit disjointed in areas, like things/facts were being thrown out and frankly, I didn't know what to do with some of them--this includes the facts about The Isis Collar itself that seem to be thrown at the reader 2/3 of the way into the book.
Also, I know this is an urban fantasy series, but when you introduce a series with sexual tension from the very 1st book and by the 4th book you have not 1, but 2 romantic interests, the reader (meaning me) starts to get frustrated when NEXT TO NOTHING happens. This is a trend in UF, and it drives me crazy (thank you, thank you Stacia Kane for NOT doing this)! Please don't string the reader along and then in the 3rd or 4th book when we're looking for something, anything to at least move in a forward direction, completely stall the romantic possibilities and make us wait another 6-18 months in hopes that something, anything will happen in the next book! As I said, I know these are not meant to be "romance" books, but when it's there for the taking, most of the readers are going to take it, enjoy taking it and wish to keep on taking it!
Thank goodness the writing in these books is "that good", because although the romantic stallings did frustrate me, I will definitely keep coming back!
