Wanted to like bc oo former bully could be fun but like I couldn’t get behind the redemption arc from racism, even if she was young and misguided. Felt weird and didn’t really buy that but I think I would have liked it just fine otherwise!

Am I the only one who feels that this book was abruptly wrapped up with a sudden epilogue or did my audiobook not have a few chapters in the middle?

I cannot decide what i think about this book. The whole premise of a whole town full of LGBT residents is, in my opinion, unrealistic. Moreover the author almost dilutes the diversity that varying sexual orientations create in any village, town or city. That aside the author does cover some very important subjects such as bullying. I did feel that although we had this encounter between Lou and Mia where Lou insists that past events were unforgivable, only days later that forgiveness seems to be forthcoming. I don't think it moves the LGBT genre onwards or upwards. As Lou sya at the end "not compelling enough, not nearly"
I certainly would not choose to read any more from the series.

Probably my favourite of the Pink Bean books I have read, with a slow burn lesbian romance that has unusually good reasons for the characters to resist their mutual physical attraction. I'm not 100% convinced by their final breakthrough on that front, but overall I'm willing to be charitable as I found it an engaging read.
