I wasn't sure this book would keep me interested, but the more I read, the more intrigued I became. You'll find yourself not wanting to stop reading as your mind is constantly wondering what's ahead and awaits you. You will not be disappointed with this book at all.

This book would have been so much better if the author hadn't made the main character sound SOOO repetitive. At first, I liked the story, Yvette, and the mystery of Mona. But as it progressed, the repeating thoughts of Yvette just got really annoying to me and it took away part of what the whole premise was, took away the touching aspects of Mona and her life and what she endured. Not only that but the name Jaffar? I felt like I was reading Aladdin. This story had so much potential. But in the end, those things I couldn't overlook is what made me only rate it 2 stars.

Intriguing mystery

Not fantastic, but an intriguing novel with some interesting twists. Wildly implausible, but compelling enough to keep the reader involved.

An ok premise but not particularly well executed. Monas story is far too detailed for a recollection. Yvette is referred to as a soccer mom, but there's no indication that any of her kids play it, or any other sport. As for Ahmed, why would he suddenly become so violent at the end. Not well thought out.

This is a strange book. I found parts of it very compelling and interesting but other parts were completely unbelievable. The entire last quarter of the book was nuts.

Griping from the very beginning. A story that will put Gone Girl and Girl on the Train to shame.

This twisted tale of a creepy neighbor will have you cringing with fear and eager for more.

Yvette is a stay at home to three wonderful children, until the tides turn and she starts to withdraw. The events that take place during her time away are unfathomable, and will have you questioning everything!

Highly recommend this book
