I think this was placed in the wrong genre because I was neither thrilled nor horrified. Did I really read the same book everyone else is giving 5 stars?
Relatively dull, very quick ending, weird character motivation, and a twist ending that left me feeling played. Cause where did it come from? Zero foreshadowing or motivation.

And amnesia? Really? (Annoying since I also read A Dark Dark Wood at the same time as this. Both main characters conveniently forgot who the killer was

This was my third Sager book and I am thoroughly impressed! I don’t usually read this type of horror, but it was a great spooky, creepy read for the October season!

“im his creation, forged from blood and pain and the cold steel of a blade.

im a fucking final girl.”

~ ♡ 4.25/5

the start was so slow and i kept having to put it down because i was genuinely so bored. then the middle started picking up and once everything started coming together i was hooked.

the ending was both heartbreaking and relieving. not what i expected, but it was bad either.

i feel like some things could have been put into more detail, it just felt like the less important things we knew so much about but the things i deemed important, weren’t.

i loved the occasional chapter where we got told more of the story on how quincy became a final girl. that was a nice touch.

i will be reading more riley sager books though !!
