It's a day-in-the-life of D.I. Alec Hardy - yay!

I appreciate any insight into Hardy's thoughts, since his character is somewhat of a closed book on the show, so I was thrilled to read this story, and enjoyed it immensely. Takes place the day before Danny's body is discovered on the beach, which as fans of the show will know coincides with Hardy's first week in Broadchurch. Hardy doesn't have it easy, adjusting to small-town life, dealing with a new job, as well as coping with a serious health issue. On top of all that he has Claire Ripley to contend with, and keep hidden. I thought Erin Kelly did a fantastic job of writing Hardy attempting to juggle all these obstacles in his life. Also, the impression he formed of D.S. Ellie Miller, even though he hadn't yet met her, was a great source of amusement for me, especially given what the two characters come to mean to each other.

I hope Erin Kelly returns to write more post-episode e-books for series 3 of Broadchurch. Also it would be fabulous if she were to write a novelization of series 2 like she did with series 1.

Personally I was disappointed that the final short story was set before Broadchurch and not after.
