The initial read of this book had me hooked and I was so looking forward to reading this book when it arrived.

The cover gripped my attention and the synopsis had me wondering what was going in.  I wanted to expand my reading genre and read from another country.

Although the writing was very descriptive and drew me in I was prepared for the emotional torture of Liv. Even now I am finished I am not sure how I feel about her? Do I feel sorry for her? Should she have left? But the strength she has is immense,. especially with her final decision.

Other reviewers said the end was a shock, but I had worked it out. Maybe I read too many murder-mysteries 🤷

Its the first time I found I didnt really like the characters, they all had an 'angle' which I known is the reality.   it does confirm why I prefer animals to people.

The book has an interesting concept and a very interesting storyline. I was very grateful to receive an advance copy of this book.
For me personally it started a little slow and it took me a while to get into it but once I did I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s written very well and has a great usage of descriptive language which helps you imagine it in your mind.
It did take me a little longer than normal to read it and I think that’s maybe because I didn’t fully connect with it at the beginning.
The story tackles many complexities, issues and relationship issues. The main character Liv has stayed beside a domineering father for many years but why? Many secrets get unearthed throughout the book and there’s more than one twist and turn. I found the last two thirds of the book a great read and very enjoyable, it just took me a while to get into the book.
