I think this book was good, I just wish it had a bit more description on who the characters actually were.
It dealed with grief okay, but the last few chapters where it all came together was truly my favourite part.

What I did like: this was an easy read; and the author did create enough intrigue to keep me pushing forward. I also read this with a group of friends, completing a handful of chapters each day, which made the whole experience quite enjoyable.

Unfortunately, there was a lot…and I mean A LOT of plot points, which gave me reader whiplash. The characters themselves were suspicious enough; but then the author added some lore along with weird, eerie symbolism that made the story feel chaotic. The first 75% of the book was dialogue, the suspense building and the secrecy and lies; with the other 25% being almost lacklustre reveals. Many things sort of came together in the end, but somewhat as a detriment to being truly fleshed out. I had more questions than answers in the end, and I do feel like there was some major plot holes, inconsistency and lack of development with characters and ideas.

i heard this book was slow & was hesitant to read it due to that but i’m so glad i did. yes it was a little slow, but i actually enjoyed that & was completely invested in the story. i will say i really thought i had it figured out like halfway through. needless to say, I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING.
