Significantly darker and more thoughtful than I expected! Looking forward to book 2.

I was enjoying this mostly. I liked the growing romance and wanted to get on with it, so I felt annoyed when some pack business interrupted the development. There were some inconsistencies with Simon's personality, which was weird to me. You see... I quite liked him in his wolf form and when I was reading his pov. But when I read from Paul's pov, how Simon acted around Paul, the wolf came off as a smug dick.
In the end I lost interest.

Exactly what it looks like on the tin. Easy read, uses a lot of Wattpad-ish tropes, which isn't always a bad thing, since the writing is better than Wattpad. Not the biggest fan of
the fact that only the ~men~ are werewolves and that of course they're all homophobic
or that there are virtually no women characters. I liked that the characters actually get mad at each other instead of brushing things off, but there is way more "just showing up at a stranger's house" than would ever happen IRL. That threw me out of the fiction more than the shapeshifting did!

Why does this cover look like something you'd find on Wattpad.

Cute story
Gay couple that wasn't cliche (Thank God I can't tell you how many times I've had to suffer through "fab" "oh em gee" "guuurl" etc etc in other books). Not that there aren't guys like that but man, not everyone is.

There's more but I'm lazy so eh

I admired Paul's 'research' scene, wherein he confronts his bisexuality, but... And I usually love this author's work, but... I am having trouble with this novel. DNF at 32%. I dislike the werewolf dynamic. And I just can't warm up to the human. I'm accidentally reading several werewolf novels (weird because I generally avoid the shifter romances), and alas, this one suffers in comparison.

I may one day try one of the later novels. Hope different pairings work better for me.
