I do enjoy these novels. They give you a good mystery and always wrap it up at the end. Honestly, I stick with it for Storm… who doesn’t love a huge Newfoundland tracker?!

Not as captivating as some of the previous entries in this series. Feels like the author may be drawing the series to a close.

Rockton = a far away place in Canada where people go to hide when they are in danger. It will cost you.

I love this series. Looking forward to the next. I will be sad if the next book is the end, but I have thoroughly enjoyed living in this world. I like the thought of being able to pay your way into a place that is safe and out of sight of danger, if I needed it. Casey and Dalton have a huge case to detect, starting with a crazed woman charging out of the forest towards the group enjoying a bonfire. Who is she? What is she? Was she running from someone or something? The puzzle pieces of how the hostiles came to be are falling into place. The pacing of this book seemed a bit slower than the previously read stories, but we needed that pacing to keep track of the lost puzzle pieces. Whew, what a story, and I need a shot of tequila to wait out the next.

Not my favourite in the series, but still a decent addition.
