I don't know why this book has so many bad reviews. It is clearly not reaching the correct audience. Yes, there are a lot of reveals/twists in the last 20% of the book, and yes some of them include dark moments, but this book isn't dark. Or at least not dark romance dark. It would be a nice thriller for a dark romance reader as a pallette cleanser, though. The twist that a lot of the bad reviews seem to have a problem with (and claim it is not supported by the actions of the characters in the first 80% of the book), I predicted. I could not have predicted it if it wasn't foreshadowed! But there was a major twist that I did not see coming! This was a good time, and I was here for it. You read this for the vibes, not the writing. I've already started the second book.
Okay, I had a tough time with this rating because honestly I was pretty unimpressed with the majority of this book (mostly because the characters are so unlikeable) but holy shit that twist! I literally just sat here with my jaw dropped for the last few chapters because I was shook.

happy mistake lol I was looking for the arrangement by robyn Harding off a tiktok recommendation so I didn't see the author name very well when the creator showed it, I just typed in the title and I often get different cover versions on libby so I didn't think much about it. but while listening of course I was like wait a min and then went back to the video to figure out I check out the wrong audiobook but I was here for it lol. like the amount of like ridiculousness craziness that kept happening I just could not stop listening for it felt like I a throw back to a soap opera. definitely recommend if you wanting like a guilty read I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
