Even though there are a couple of classic Nesbo twists at the end of this they didn't make up for this being quite a boring slog of highly improbable escapades to wade through. Prefer the Harry Hole series.
This was a bit of a wild read. There was certainly a thread of dark humor that runs throughout it - if you can laugh at bits of Pulp Fiction, then this might be your type of humor, really. Its a good journey into what facades we put up to exist in society - and how little it takes to break them.
Probably more 3 1/2 stars - just for the pure entertainment factor and a couple of chuckle-out-loud scenes.
A first-person narrative is always a bit tricky. Particularly so, when the narrator is as unlikable a character as Roger Brown, the corporate headhunter in this story. It's a twisted tale of greed, jealousy and murder.
This is the first Jo Nesbo book I've read and don't know if it's the norm for his books, but I was surprised at the amount of graphic gore and black humour in Headhunters. I was both repelled and captivated by it -- if that makes sense. Not at all what I expected.
Recommended, reservedly. Not for the squeamish (one gross scene set in an outhouse is especially stomach-churning).

I liked it - a fast read, good for a day recuperating on the sofa. Within three pages I saw Roger Brown as DiNozzo from NCIS.....
Lê-se muito bem. O Nesbo sabe prender o leitor e não perde tempo com descrições das árvores e das planícies, vai directo ao assunto. Consegue surpreender e não digo mais nada :)
I’d give this 25 stars if I could. I listened to the audiobook and it was a perfect accompaniment for driving. Totally grabbed my attention by the throat and hung on until the very end. Wow! Jo Nesbø outdid himself this time. Highly recommend!
I really enjoyed this but I think some of the black humour got lost in translation. I definitely want to see the movie adaptation and to read Nesbo's 'Harry Hole' series.
Absolutely fantastic, probably the most enjoyable book I've read so far this year. Quick paced, great character development, and one too many twists to the plot (but this doesn't ruin it).
Having seen the film prior to reading this I was already familiar with the story but had seen the film so long ago that the ending was actually a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed the movie and the book is better!
A quick (and to be honest a trashy read) that isn't challenging but most importantly is fun. The best Nesbo book I've come across to date. 8/10

This book falls short for two major reasons:
1. The beginning is a chore.
2. The "twist" ending provides a false, emotional punch
There are enjoyable bits peppered throughout, making the effort not a total loss.
