Covered in red flags, this is a book that covers a lot of tough topics and situations.
I absolutely loved it.
Actually told from quite a few different perspectives with a 3rd person POV. The author's use of perception and timing creates massive suspense. He did amazing.

The book painted some very graphic images and actually made me cringe a few times (no small feat). I liked Oskar, he was well developed and the relationships with the other kids felt really grounded, it didn't feel like a Stephen King story where the bullies are just pure evil.
Vampire elements were handled well keeping a lot of their classic traits and even providing explanations for some (the monster/virus in the heart)
The cast of characters were good but a bit hard to keep track of with names like Lack, Locke, Larry, Jimmy, Jonny and Tommy. Everything came together pretty well in the end
