It’s no secret that hockey romances are my new favorite thing! This one was so good and I absolutely loved Maddie and Nova together. If you love “touch her and die” men, then definitely read this! The spice is also SO GOOD.

As someone who hardly ever leaves written reviews..
Please. Do yourself a favor and READ THIS BOOK.
After finishing a darker series, I decided to give this a try because I was in desperate need of a palate cleanser. I figured this would be like all the other hockey romances I’ve read (and loved), so I didn’t think much of it.
Fast forward to now and after only finishing the book 5 minutes ago, I want to go back and re-read because it was THAT DAMN GOOD. The tension, the banter, the spice. Ahhhh! Chef’s kiss. Absolute perfection!
It takes a lot to get 5 stars for me but this book certainly did! I already know this will be a comfort read for me.

Nova Darkmore and Madeline Peters have never gotten along well. While Nova may not dislike her as much as her father, there is still a significant level of animosity between them. The second spot in Nova's dislike list is taken by Madeline's older brother and his hockey teammate, Josh. There is a complicated history between these two. Nova, coming from a less privileged background, has a successful college hockey career, while Madeline is the obedient daughter of a senator who Nova perceives as a snob. The tension between them is almost palpable, and their chemistry is undeniable.
After a drunken night and a mix-up with phone numbers, they start texting each other without realizing who the other person is. The resulting interactions are deliciously intense, as their hatred for each other turns into passionate desire.
Madeline finds herself in a difficult situation when her father pressures her to get engaged to an undesirable man or risk losing financial support. Despite her reluctance, she feels compelled to agree in order to secure her future. Her growing attraction to Nova, her brother's rival, complicates matters further. A series of drunken mishaps lead her to Nova's doorstep, seeking to confront her fiance and navigate the complicated dynamics between them.
Their relationship is a push-and-pull of conflicting emotions, with intense chemistry and undeniable attraction. Nova, with his mix of brooding intensity and possessiveness, becomes the epitome of a book boyfriend dream. Madeline, despite her inner conflicts, shows resilience and sass in her interactions with Nova. The story unfolds with twists and turns, as they navigate their feelings amidst external pressures and personal conflicts.
