I was not expecting this book to be that good. There is a lot of smut and lowkey sometimes felt unnecessary. I give it 3.5/5 on the smut scale. Like again theres a lot but its not that great tbh. The tropes in here r so good like im giggling and kicking me feet constantly. The only annoying things id the fmc is a skinny blonde girl like come on u can do better and she can get irritating but ig it drove the plot some.

Seriously, Decent Read!
Maddie's story was heartbreaking! The way her father treats her is appalling, but the way her brother looks out for her makes my heart happy.
What happened to Nova's mom is really sad, too. Like the way his dad treated her, the way Maddie's dad treated her, and then the illness. Geezus.
Nova has a problem with Maddie & her brother for legitimate reasons, but like how can they control the deeds of their father? Hate the family because they were not as affected by daddys wrong doings, it affected HIM & HIS MOM much more. So I get it a little bit.
The banter between Nova & Mads is so great. The wrong number text relationship was amazing, while also running parallel with the IRL relationship was an excellent dynamic.
I didn't like how Nova was like a bully to her, even sexually. I know some women like that, but usually, there is a level of trust built first. I don't see that level of trust here. He just forces her to suck his BFFs stick, then in the ally, he basically rapes her after learning she is the same as Grim.
I didn't like him being so aggressive with her, for what purpose?
I loved the outcome of Bradley the douchebag. He got it coming.
I hope in the next book, the dad gets royally effed up somehow. He deserves all the bad things.

The ending felt too rushed
This was super fun and I always adore the whole “falling for the mystery person you’re writing/texting while also falling for someone else in real life, only for them to end up being the same person” trope. Like seriously, it’s a favorite trope of mine.
I wasn’t as completely obsessed with this as other people seem to be, and I hate to say it but I kinda thought there was too much sex 🫣 also I am never a fan of sharing unless it’s poly so that scene alone took half a star away from it.
Her dad was a douche and sadly karma didn’t get him yet but we can always hope in Josh’s book it happens 🤞🏻
Overall a hot, fun read and I did really enjoy it.
