The Puck Secret

This is the best college hockey romance I've ever read. <---and that's a big statement. I have no notes. We've got all the tropes: bully romance, strangers to lovers, enemies to lovers, teammate's sister, and rival families. The characters were both flawed and endearing. Your MMC, Nova, is team captain of the hockey team at FU along with her brother (hello Fairfield U book #2) and he has a massive chip on his shoulder because his mom used to be their dad's secretary. Turns out it's not a good look for the mayor to have a public affair and to limit fallout, she was fired. Everything about this family is about perception: what they study, how they dress.... who'll they will marry. After leaving a tense family appearance, the FMC, Maddie, breaks her phone after finding her "boyfriend" sleeping the the catering staff. When she gets her new phone she texts her bff, because it's the only number she knows by heart. Turns out she entered it wrong and she strikes up a conversation with a stranger. And that's where the story begins...

Maaaaan this one was good. I love the mistaken identity/hidden identity whatever it’s called trope. I also really like mixed media, where the author included text message conversations. I didn’t always love the two MCs together but as a whole the story worked.

so very cheesy but like i knew exactly what i was getting into, though the emojis while texting and the very cringe sexting would have been fine to have been left out
medium-paced

4.5⭐️ This book as so much hate, sass, secrets, and spice! Maddie and Nova are total enemies, but it doesn’t take much to turn that hate into lust and love. I couldn’t get enough of this story and was dying to see how all the drama would end!

Holy shit!!! Hockey romance has officially been added to my top trope list

Ahem. Everyone needs to read this it’s perfection wrapped in enemies to lovers, hockey & extra spice.
And the spice is the praise, degrading & possessive type
