It took me way too long to read this, but the second book of this series was just as good as the first! I love Anya, Hakon, and Ivan, each of them have such interesting and compelling backgrounds and I will never be able to read enough about them.

Oh yeah I'm INVESTED now! I cannot wait to read book three. This book blends history and fantasy seamlessly, weaving a story that is so close to real. I think it's a truly fantastic book that really challenges the genre of middle grade. I'm SO HECKING jazzed that this book exists because I would have been overjoyed to read this as a young person.
