Some interesting concepts and metaphors but I wasn’t sure what the call to action was other than a specific ‘care for the environment’.

A collection of essays that give discussion on the importance of conversation and conservation of our natural resources. A reflection of political evolution and how our actions and mindfulness of nature can be a strong force for change. Powerful work that deserves to be read and discussed.

This tiny book was so profound and moving. I would recommend it to everyone.
It was not at all what I was expecting and I love that it surprised me.

A poignant read, providing a collection of essays on environmental activism. It was interesting to gauge a perspective on activism before the ecological and climate crises galvanised more widespread attention recently, with some essays originally written in the '90s and '00s. The last chapter is inspirational and lucid, and I found the concept of an 'erotic landscape' poignant. All things considered, this is a great introduction to environmentalism from an inside perspective; it's an easy, short read, doable on a train journey (as I did), or in an afternoon. For those who are familiar with the material, there are some glaring sociological and political ecological critiques, though - it might be worth taking with a pinch of salt!
