I love this book, obviously, as it is my line of work. I listened to it on audible - I highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed this - a heavy read, but an emotionally cathartic and ultimately hopeful one.

3.5 Rounded Up

I really enjoyed hearing the stories of the clients. Rita, Julie, John, and Charlotte. These stories were so intriguing and well done. I was very roped in to seeing how these people came into therapy and was able to unravel their trauma and get to the root of their issues.

I did feel the book was too long and a big meandering. As much as I like to peer into the mind of the therapist, I felt myself wanting to skip the chapters about Lori. Hearing her interactions with Wendall was a good juxtaposition with her clients, however, I really couldn't care less about her previous work leading up to therapy.

This book is definitely meant to be right at one time because when I kept putting it down or having to return it to the library it took me too long every time to get back into it. But it’s written with a really kind and comedic voice with a great mix of humanity and thought-provoking ideas. I want to give it three stars based on my reading experience but I feel like that’s not fair since I was the one that kept putting it down.
