A book about a therapists relationship with therapy, read by a CBT Therapist.

I enjoyed this book. Her style of person centred therapy is a different type to the one I offer so it was really interesting to see glowy versions of her practice. I also noticed a few lines that were very hard hitting that I loved and have bookmarked.

I think this was great

I’d give the first 3/4 of the book 3 stars. I liked it. The last 1/4, 5 stars. I cried big tears. And took notes on her thoughts about guilt and apologies, privacy vs secrets, and change. “People are reluctant to give something up without knowing what they’ll get in its place. Change involves the loss of the old and the anxiety of the new.”

This took me a year to read, I picked it up when I needed it and it always spoke to me. I will reread this for sure

I loved this book about working as a Therapist . I enjoyed her talking about her clients . I do have a background in social work so of course I loved it .I also read it for the No shelf control Book club

only took me 18 months but I finally finished it
(bezos is going to hell for an infinite amount of reasons but one of them is definitely the complete ownership audible has of certain audiobooks, this book included, that won’t even permit libraries to offer them)
