This book is absolutely everything I needed it to be. 12 year old Bailey would have loved it but oh I’m so glad I found it now. I’ll definitely be rereading!

Cute fantasy story that doesnt involve he main character being a hidden ruler, which I appreciated. I could not get past the fact that the main character was 17 who enters into a relationship with her 26 year old former teacher, who knew her since she was ten and was her sole tutor from 14-17... And apparently fell in love with her when she was just a straight up child and he was a full on adult?! Gave me serious ick. I kept lying to myself that they were both aged up by approximately 7 years.
This book was amazing! I didn't expect it to be so alluring. Each page I read was filled with magic, intrigue, power, knowledge, romance, and fantasy. I didn't want it to end and couldn't wait to read the second book. I fell in love with the characters, the romance, the plot, the conflict and so much more. I would definitely recommend everyone to read this book!

I really was intrigued by the idea of the character's abilities in this book and how they focus on developing talents in the arts. Another great world-building on Rebecca Ross's part, love love love !
