I loved rereading this book and I loved the characters and the dragons. I found the action gripping and well written. The places and journeys that they go on fun. I also liked the unpredictable areas they go to and the peace too was good.

It was exciting, quick-moving, adventure packed, and full of dragons.

I’m not sure how well it would work just as a fantasy novel, for kids unfamiliar with the Dragonology world. I think they would enjoy it, but not as much as Amber did. You really have to be a dragon lover to like it, I think. And the dragons can be powerful, intelligent, dangerous, but the SASD’s mission is to protect them, not exploit them, which goes along with Amber’s feelings quite well.

The Dragon’s Eye by Dugald A. Steer is the first in The Dragonology Chronicles series, a middle grade historical fantasy. Daniel and Beatrice are twelve year old siblings who receive disappointing news. Their parents will not be summering with them in England, and instead will be in India on business. The siblings are shipped off to stay with Dr. Drake, whom they discover is a dragonologist – meaning he studies dragons. Danger arises and they must find the dragon eye jewel, a precious and powerful artifact to the Dragonology society, before the evil Ignatius Crook does.

Draky sú proste super, nech si hovorí každý, čo len chce! A ešte tieto, v tajomnom 19. storočí, sú úplne najmega! Ja len dúfam, že raz spravíme aj toho 200-stranového sprievodcu drakmi, čo patrí k tejto sérii, lebo ten je megaúžasný! :)
