“It wasn't that long ago that I thought of Eric as a nice little break from reality. But that was so shortsighted. Once I stopped fighting it, I realized he could be my reality. I love him. He's here to stay. And the rest of it is really just noise.”

easily a solid 5. the love i have for this book is unreal

Bowen did it again! She blew my mind with this story, because both Eric and Alex were such wonderful, strong characters to follow. And I have to admit that the circumstances surrounding their meeting again really did it for me, too.
This is a mix between the Brooklyn Bruisers series and the new series, and I found it to be interesting to see some of the hockey while still moving on to something completely different.

Sexy, funny, even a little bittersweet, Moonlighter is a terrific kickoff to a new series.

I’m almost always on board for a romance that takes us to Hawaii. In Sarina Bowen’s MOONLIGHTER, pro hockey player Eric Bayer is enlisted to pose as Alex Engels’ boyfriend and bodyguard during a security conference on Oahu. She’s CEO of a cable/telecom conglomerate with a major product launch on the horizon. His family, with his brother Max at the helm, runs a personal security firm, referred to cryptically as The Company.

Wait, let me say that again: A sexy bodyguard, a lady CEO, and a hotel suite in Hawaii? Yes, please.

Once on island, Eric’s biggest challenge isn’t holding off Alex’s ex (and the father of her baby) or competitors with ulterior motives. They discover there’s only one bed in Alex’s suite ::eyebrow waggle:: Can I just tell you, I forgot what a sexy beast Bayer is?! Funny and confident and dead sexy without being an arrogant a-hole. I wouldn't kick him outta bed for eating crackers, if y'know what I'm saying.

MOONLIGHTER is compelling combo of hockey romance and romantic suspense that bridges Brooklyn Bruisers fans to this new series. And it keeps the door open for those who want the sexy intrigue. And clearly, we’re gonna need to get all into brother Max’s secrets as we get inside The Company.

MOONLIGHTER is a one-click, for sure.

I just... Y'all. My heart.

This is what I would call a light rom-suspense. Eric's non-involvement in his father and brother's company is interesting. I think the plot is plausible. I liked how Eric and Alex remembered and learned about each other. They were both really cute and sweet. I had figured out the intrigue fairly early, but overall that part was in the background in the story. A lot of it was about Eric and Alex's relationship as well as Eric's relationship with his brother and father. This wasn't quite the rom-suspense I was looking for, but this was very enjoyable.

I am soooo excited for the rest of this series. Loved Eric and Alex!!

3.5 for eric and alex!!

Not bad but not that good either, unfortunately. There were 4 tropes in this book - the romance, the pregnancy, H's career/injury, and the launch of the h's new product and the problems/espionage/murder - complications tied to it. But the last aspect wasn't solved at all, the author left too many questions unanswered.. who was behind the criminal actions, could they be stopped, could the h save her product, how could she save it... the rest of the book was ok, but not nearly as good as pther books from this author. 2,5 stars.

This was a light-hearted read, but it lost a star for the heroine's negative self-talk about her body. Thin women calling themselves fat doesn't work for me.

4 stars

Loved it but I wasn't satisfied with how it ended and was like 'That's it?'
Lol it's just that they haven't caught Xian Smith yet so what's gonna happen after that nice last chapters where she had her baby

I loved all of it but i need more
