A very enjoyable frenemies to lovers' story. I wasn't a big fan of Alex (her actions in the Bruisers series), left a bad taste in my mouth, but I came to like her. Looking forward to more in tis series.

After devouring MOONLIGHTER, I honestly don’t know whether it’s Alex or Eric I have the biggest crush on. Take Alex, she’s an incredibly successful computer programmer and a leader of industry. Her newest innovation has garnered some unwanted attention and with it attempts of sabotage. Although a huge problem in itself, she actually has a more pressing matter at hand, which she needs dealt with swiftly and discreetly.
Discreet is the motto of Eric Bayer’s family run security company. It’s so discreet intact, it doesn’t have a name. Although Eric is more than happy with his illustrious hockey career he’s been roped in by father and brother to help out on Alex’s case.
There’s history with Alex and Eric. They where thick as thieves in childhood but more recently an awkward brush off is the bone of contention that needs to be picked. Eric’s role of bodyguard has them living and working closely together and it’s not long before their history and familiarity develops into intimacy.
Much like Pavlov’s classical conditioning, the mere mention of Eric’s name causes me to salivate. He’s assertive and playful, but it’s his deep rooted caring nature that has me gaga over the man. MOONLIGHTER is a story that keeps on giving. There’s a sizzlingly romance, action filled scenes along with some heartfelt touching moments.
I may sound like a broken record when it comes to Sarina but, I seriously enjoyed this one! My new favorite!

As a jump off to a new series I thought this was a solid beginning. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about Alex because of her storyline in a previous book, but she grew on me. I loved Eric. The suspense part of the storyline also intrigued me. I’m curious to see if that continues and if Max will get his own book.
Books with babies/pregnancy aren't really my thing. But this book was sweet, intriguing, a little suspenseful and really funny. I laughed out loud multiple times.
Erik Bayer has been asked to help with his family's 'company ' while on hiatus from hockey. Alex is the pregnant client he needs to help.
This is a fake relationship book with a bit of suspense. Lots of fun and really lovely.
The narration was pretty good but every now and then the female narrator sounded really surprised and it didn't make sense.
But a really enjoyable listen overall.

The beginning of a new series for Bowen, this book is a mash-up of hockey and suspense. But I think she tried to do too much - there were too many plot lines and she ended up rushing them at the end. Some things were pretty much unresolved (the espionage storyline), while others were a quick dump of information (Eric's character/skills that would make him eligible for other professions). Add in some lukewarm chemistry, and this ended up being one of my least favorite of her books.
Great start!!! Eric and Alex were childhood friends that hadn’t seen each other in years. Until Eric was contracted by his father and brother to help out Alex. She’s no damsel in distress but she needed his help. He pretended to be her boyfriend but boy was the chemistry off the roof with these two. There was a bit of everything in this story but the way these two were with each other made for a good read. Alex was an independent heroine that wasn’t a doormat and it was refreshing to read. Eric was amazing and the perfect partner for Alex.
