Too many characters, too many lines.
Good for Cara Hunter as she tried to develop a new format, but the excessive plot twists just backfired the book in my opinion.

This was a fun and unique thriller! This book has you solving a murder along with the cast of a true crime series. I figured it out, but I was kind of hoping to be wrong and surprised. Overall, I had a good time reading this, though.
Luke Rider was brutally murdered in 2003, and the crime was never solved. A true crime show, being directed by the man's stepson, hopes to finally solve this decades long mystery. A team of experts are pulled together to dig up new evidence and attempt to do what the police could not: find out who killed Luke Rider. This book gave me whiplash. Some of the twists were so good that it did end up feeling like a real series as you scramble to find out what happens next and what the next cliffhanger will be. The format is cool as well. It's told in newspaper articles, reddit posts, uncovered documents, etc. You get inside each "episode" like you're a viewer. Without this formula, this book would have been quite average.
I'm always excited to dive into something new and unique. I think any reader will have fun with this story. Most astute thriller readers will figure out the ending, but still enjoy the book.

A very interesting way to write a murder mystery, very easy to read once you start even though it’s a long book it grabs your attention 👀
