Terrible on audio. Probably not much better in print. Description of a reality t.v. show.
Too many characters; everybody’s a suspect.; twist, twist, twist.

Wow. I started this book two years ago when my girlfriend gifted it to me. After reading 80 pages, I left it because I was not that interested. Now I started it again, and I can say it has been a real rollercoaster. I was ready to catch the killer before they did it, but nothing could have prepared me for the plot twists. The end makes me think that there’s going to be a sequel, but I am not sure.

I actually ended up really enjoying this book despite the things that really threw me off. I do truly think this would make for a great tv show set up especially with the twist and turns and everyone going at each other by the end.
I will say the multimedia aspect really threw me for a loop for awhile and honestly almost made me DNF the book. It was hard to keep track of who my characters were since we really didn’t get to know them. It was very much how a play would be set up. They’re introduced with their general jobs and how they are and they look but after that you just have them referenced as it comes up in conversation. For the first 100 pages or so I had to keep going back to the beginning because I couldn’t remember whose background was whose which was kind of annoying.
But the drama that unfolds really kept me going. So much that I pretty much binged the whole book and only put it down to sleep and do things that needed to be done for the day.

This book was actually so hard to read. If I didn't read it with a friend I would not have finished it. It was a script but it didn't make sense because the movie was like a documentary, with interviews, which you can't write a script for because you can't anticipate what they'll say?? I don't know if I'm just not down with the movie kids but it did not make sense at all. I got used to it, though.

Second worst part was when episode one was sooooooooooooooo long and for what?? It didn't help me fix the characters in my head and it didn't do any character building and was just too much background in my opinion.

Also, when it released that the director had chosen everyone specifically because it was so obvious that that wasn't a secret.

After page 239, it finally started getting interesting. After this I was hooked. We finally had the information, we had the motives we should've had, and the information was coming out like a real investigation.

I was SO surprised. I thought it was Maura from the beginning, but I didn't see the side pieces, the brothers and sisters, or the other two little kids Catherine had playing into it AT ALL. Especially not Guy. But it made sense.

After 239, it was good. Before, I wish I had my time back. Honestly I think I would've done fine just skipping to episode 3 because due to the flashbacks, I would've had the information I needed anyways.
