"Open wounds never heal."

While this book could certainly be read as a stand alone, I would suggest reading the first one because those charcters are mentioned in this book, even though they aren't the focus.

Open Wounds focuses around Darryl, Matt's old partner, and his relationship with Kellie, the IA Agent. There is also a sorted past between Kellie and the female Detective, Amelia. Kellie has to attach herself to Amelia and basically judge and notate her every move, behavior and action. The two women have things in their past that need to be confronted, and those things lie deep within them - open wounds that are seeping and will most likely never heal.

Unlike the first book, I did find myself skimming some of this one. I wished for more dialogue throughout and less description/information. Other than that, it was extremely enjoyable to read, a lot of mystery, and I love how Camille Taylor tells her story. Just enough to keep you engaged and leaves just enough out to keep your curosity peaked! A very good crime drama, wrapped up in a fun little bow!
