This book is wonderfully laid out for reference and information and brings together the traditional tarot with (several iterations of) runes and Norse mythology, giving space to each but twining them together in a fascinating and very balanced way.

It has everything that’s necessary but it comes across as a bit hurried and the layout could be better. While the descriptions of the cards are good and provide some context, the keywords are pretty generic without much consideration for this particular deck. The runes are in part a good choice, but in other parts not so much. Some seemed to be made to fit somehow in the context and there are two different rune systems used, which makes things even more complicated. Some runes do not match with other descriptions in related literature and that is a bit confusing, too. One doesn’t need this guidebook if one has a basic understanding of Nordic mythology, people without it might get a bit confused here and there.
