Blurb…
A front-of-the-house Kitchen Confidential from a career maître d’hotel who manned the front of the room in New York City's hottest and most in-demand restaurants.

Musings…
WILD… I worked in a restaurant for 7 years when I was younger thus making me a sucker for all foodie books. Especially memoirs. Michael dishes it all!!! This book will leave you wanting to dine at the hottest NY restaurants as well as not wanting to eat at them. I love the tales of his time being a Maitre d’ a position I have never read about before. With nostalgic vibes and and juicy gossip this was a hit for me!

This was an enjoyable read. Sometimes it got a little “inside baseball” and I’d skim for a few paragraphs, but overall interesting. There are some great stories but I thought it would be a bit more salacious. I know I didn’t love it because it took so long for me to finish this thing.

Such a fun read. I love restaurant books, all of the stories were fun to listen to and I loved hearing his thought process. The final chapter!!!

This feels like a not as good version of Kitchen Confidential (which I rated 5 stars). There were a few disjointed moments and although it wasn't entirely cohesive, I still really enjoyed the stories I was being told. And I appreciated the disclosure at the beginning about telling the story how it is and not censoring what happened.

Interesting memoir but consider the line of work- lots of f-bombs, vulgar stories, drug and alcohol use.

I switched between reading the physical version and listening to the audiobook. I found both platforms to be enjoyable and would recommend both. The narrator did a great job and kept me engaged the whole time. I found this memoir to be very interesting. I loved how it was structured and told because it made for an easy listen. The story flowed nicely and always felt like it was moving. Honestly, I feel like I learned a lot from reading this and I wasn’t really expecting that. It made me appreciate and look out for certain things when eating out at a restaurant. Overall, this was a good read and would recommend you check it out!

Michael Cecchi! What a storyteller. He blends alcohol, food, sex, wine, people, and drugs in an absolutely carnal concoction that you do not want to miss. This is nonfiction (!), is a delightful guilty pleasure read, and you will be entertained. Trust me.

This was my background audio book for errands and driving to work the past week, and for that it was good.
