Not sure I really learned much and it wasn't the "inside look" I was hoping for.

I loved the celebrity name dropping, and hearing about the bad behavior of the guests and hospitality staff (mainly in the 80s and early 90s) including copious amounts of drugs and alcohol, bribery to get a better table, repeated exposure of genitals in the dining room, and other stories that will make you question the safety of eating out ever again

The flip side was that it was hard hearing about the disrespect and appalling behaviour of most rich people, it shouldn’t be so hard to treat people nicely

This was the right length novel, any longer and it might have felt a bit repetitive

Interesting times were documented in this memoir. If you, like me, have worked in the food industry or have ever been curious about what goes on - perhaps fans of food travel channels - this book is so enthralling. Definitely a niche topic but the author has so much personality and it was very entertaining overall.
