So beautiful. The story is so sad even though you only find out how sad it is at the end of the book.

read this in 2021 during school. the plot twist i didn’t expect but I truly have no words. the more I thought about whether I liked the book the less I liked it. I found the writing style weird and a little childish.

Well shoot I really liked that ending, I actually had an emotion while reading it. I did get a lil confused at some points but not majorly. I also wished we saw more of a relationship between Cady and Gat because we can see that they were in love but not why they were in love (idk if that makes sense). Other than that I like it :))

I've seen numerous booktubers recommend this book and I was very excited to read it. The first half was a tiny bit dull for me as I didn't know where the novel was heading at and it just seemed to be talking about a rich American family's life. But then towards the end it got incredibly intriguing and thrilling. I felt like I should've seen the twist coming because it was literally hinted in the fairy tale variation Cady's written but somehow I still got really shocked by the sudden twist. I think the idea of Johnny, Mirren and Gat existing as ghosts or her illusions on the island was a bit cliché but eventually it ended well and I can't think of any other way to write it so I'm not complaining. Some people have commented saying they don't really like lines being broken down in the middle and the very short lines in the novel, but I think it is rather smart because it really captures that Cady's memory was fragmented. Overall, a very good summer read and definitely a page turner. I couldn't put the book down.

This was the fastest I've read a book in my life. I was so addicted and couldn't put it down! I was not expecting that ending at all. I was really trying to get to the truth before Cady but it really caught me off guard. 100% recommend it!!

I was so close to DNF this one. It’s 2 stars because I kinda liked the plot twist…. Everything else is just boring?
