I heard about this book on TikTok and added it to my Christmas TBR.
"The Christmas Fix" follows Cat and Noah. Cat is the host of a very successful home renovation show, and she has her heart set on repairing the town of Merry following a devastating flood that destroyed most of the little town right before Christmas. Noah is a single dad and city manager who wants nothing to do with the craziness of a television crew in his town, but he also has no idea how to repair Merry without the help of Cat and her crew. Reluctantly, they work together, and Cat and Noah's dislike of one another becomes cloudy when they slowly realize they might be wrong about each other.
This was a sweet story that is brimming with Christmas magic. Merry's main source of income comes from the holiday season because they host a Christmas extravaganza. Because of this, the flood is all the more devastating because it means they do not have time to rebuild to maintain the town's long standing holiday traditions.
Cat is such a boss. She knows what she wants, and she goes after it full throttle. I loved seeing her infectious energy inspire everyone else and I loved seeing her get to have everything she ever wanted.
Noah is a caring father who always puts his daughter first, which is admirable, but it means that he has put his life on old. He deserves to be happy too, I loved watching him slowly accept the fact that he deserves good things too.
Cat and Noah together are explosive, but in a good way. They have such raw chemistry, and it was very satisfying to watch them fall for one another and finally accept that their hatred of each other was all a ruse.
I think this story is super sweet and enjoyable, but it is missing that intoxicating quality that I am looking for in romances. I enjoyed the characters, and I was rooting for them, but I was not entirely invested in them finally coming together.
If you want a sweet Christmas romance about a small town and a single dad, this story is for you!
