I hate hitting a reading slump in the middle of a book, and it's no fault of the story on this one. Most issues still stand re: my review of the first one, and I will tack on that while it was amusing, every time there's relationship issues the reaction is so over-the-top and kinda unrealistic. I hate miscommunication tropes. All in all, a quick entertaining read.

I enjoyed it.

I'm a little frustrated by the way Mary immediately accepts a supposed break up without a fight and goes straight to I'll leave you before you can leave me.  I get that it's a defense mechanism in response to trauma, but still.

It's also a little frustrating to not really have a sense of how much time has passed or how old the characters are.

The shift to slowly being more active participants in history is an interesting one.   I hope we see the emotional/psychological ramifications of it.
