I have mixed feelings about this series. It seems like it would be everything I want - time travel, a kind of screwball comedy romantic plot. I want to love it, but there is an awkwardness and a wild kind of "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks" quality to the narrative that itches at me. Like a mosquito bite on a generally lovely summer day. I'll read more but maybe not for a bit.

I liked the first book in this series much much more. It is a likable story with time travel, wacky characters, mystery, history....This book lacked a lot. It had many plot holes and frustrating dilemmas they could have easily been sorted out. BUT, I still wanted to find out what happened, and I may read another in this long series.

My sixth Jodie Taylor audiobook narrated by Zara Ramm, and I giggle every single time she misreads the words 'wander'/'wandered'/'wandering' as 'wonder'/'wondered'/'wondering'. Every time!

Apart from that, I am (clearly) addicted to the Taylor/Ramm series, and loving every one.
