Art and panel style was good, but the story was not super organized and was often difficult to understand.

While the ethics of the journalist's portrayal can be questioned, the atmospheric read is divine. The art is perfectly neo noir and the storyline is compelling enough to warrant the reader wanting a sequel.

cw: sexual assault, child abuse

i was really excited to read this, but unfortunately it was a little disappointing ☹️ the art was absolutely stunning and it was great seeing bi rep, but i couldn't connect with the story and i was mostly just confused. also not a fan of the mc casually drugging another character like ndb ???

*Thank you to NetGalley, BOOM! Studios and Gaby Dunn for sending me an eARC for review.*

I definitely loved the concept of this story but it fell a little flat for me. I've only read my fair share of mystery novels and comics, but I just needed slightly more. It felt a little rushed and even by the end of it, I felt like I couldn't make all the connections.

4 mainly for the art. I wish it had been slightly longer so that some details and some characters had more explanation.

Note: Got an ARC from NetGalley in return for an honest review. Thank you!

I appreciate the effort that went into creating this graphic novel but this didn't really do it for me. The art is good and I like the diverse characters but the plot can be hard to follow at times and the story really didn't flow very well. It's a mystery/thriller so I expected it to be high action and have a coherent plot but I was more often confused than not. I guess I just prefer a more linear storytelling style.
