I love Dolly Parton so it was obvious I would love this before ever reading it. She is such a beautiful soul.

Eh, I'd say this is more of a coffee-table book than a true memoir. It's just a collection of short interviews with Dolly and a smidge of narration to connect them. The audiobook in particular kind of sounds like a rough-cut of a documentary. The interviews themselves are fun, but there's really not much depth to them. Unless you're just super into Dolly Parton stuff, this is probably a pass.

Audio book. I don’t know why I’m super into musician memoirs lately, but apparently I am

this one is Audio book only! It’s 5 hours of Dolly just talking about her life and career — what more could you possibly want??

This was a nice short listen. I grew up listening to Dolly Parton's music and love her lyrics and storytelling. Throughout this book I enjoyed revisiting some of the songs I loved and learning about where many of her songs came from. I think it was better as an audiobook because Dolly narrates it herself and there are snippets of the songs which add to the experience. Interesting lady.
