I have to say: I feel like we---um, I mean BERTIE--- got cheated in the love department. Although it ended with the love triangle finally coming to an end, and one boy winning over the other, it was never as though Bertie ever said she CHOSE-- she never led us to believe that she loved the boys anything other than equal even to the end, despite the fact that she made her choice.
Not a fan.
Also not a fan of the brigands-- way too serious and evil. Also did not like the killing of the brigands in the avalanche. Who wants a bunch of dead bodies underneath the Theatre? Once the snow melts, it's gonna start to smell, I'm telling you. Bad stuff, Bertie. Bad stuff.
But I did love How Bertie Came To Be (the real and actual story, which she FINALLY pieced together), and I love how the Scrimshander got so protective of Bertie... and Her Gracious Majesty, and how she worked.

Enchanting and vibrant. So Silver Bright is a perfect ending to a mesmerizing trilogy. Lisa Mantchev built such an imaginative world, I fell completely in love the descriptions and the characters.
I already know that I'll be rereading this book eventually. I desperately wanted to love this book like I loved the others -- and I think I would have, had I read it closer to the others. I need to read all three within a month, rather than within a year, of one another. So many parts I struggled with because I knew they were references to the last book, but I just couldn't recall what had happened. I did enjoy the last couple of chapters, so I look forward to rereading in a few years. Perhaps it will gain four stars next time.
"So Silver Bright" was a perfect ending to a wonderful series. These books have such a unique plot that they completely swept me into their world. The "Theatre Illuminata" series is for people who are willing to fall into a fantasy world where anything is possible. I loved that the possibilities for this book seemed endless.
The characters are fun and there are moments where I found myself laughing out loud. How can you not love a set of characters that includes four faeries from "A Midsummer Night's Dream"? They are hilarious and wreak havoc where ever they go. I will also admit that I have a total crush on Nate! A pirate with a heart of gold who is ruggedly hansom and 100% man. Who am I kidding? I just needed to know he was a pirate! ;) Ariel is his super sensual self. Bertie, our leading lady, is growing up but still remains kick ass. Ophelia also has a memorable part to play in this final installment.
"So Silver Bright" may be a fantasy book, but the characters struggle with issues anyone can relate to. Bertie is trying to bring together her separated parents by learning about their past. Ariel is trying to figure out where he belongs in the world. Bertie is constantly trying to learn about her powers and gain the confidence she needs to be successful in her objectives. While the problems and actions are fantastical, the emotional struggles of the characters are realistic.
I really hope Lisa Mantchev continues to write novels because I want more of her fantastic creativity. I am very sad that this is the final book in the "Theatre Illuminata"

I think this is my least favorite of the trilogy, though not a bad ending to the series. In this book we see berties magic morph into essentially an extension of her will and become more muddled and incoherent than in the second book. This is also the book where we realize no one, including the author has any clue when or where this story is set. We’ve got references to Mary Janes and jeans, and in book 1 I thought maybe we were in our world, but there’s a magical theatre. In book two we starting getting more outmoded speech and places outside the theatre that are clearly not our world. Ok, so we’re not in our world but a similar one with magic. Cool. UNTIL in book three the world Nickelodeon appears? Excuse me? Only a couple chapters before, we arrived outside of the theatre to a setting that had people and vehicles of all time periods present, so we are not in our time not in our world and yet Nickelodeon?? I know it’s a really small detail but it throws me right out of the storyline—and at the climax of the book too.
In book 1, I had no idea which love interest would win out, but by the start of this book I could imagine what the ending would be, especially when we meet the character Varvarra. I did appreciate that we saw one of the male love interests make the choice for themselves rather than the more common resolution of the girl choosing one of the guys and the other continuing to pine. I think it speaks to his character growth, and also hers for finally respecting the choice.

A thoroughly satisfying conclusion to a most imaginative trilogy. If nothing else, Bertie has taught us to remain steadfast in our beliefs and that one must never underestimate the power of words.
A great element of this series is the humor and the 4 faeries do not disappoint. They have so many funny quotes and really, I do wish I have the four of them as my best friends. Action-packed this book most certainly is, it's very fast paced and surprisingly, I loved every moment of it; not a single scene I disliked.
I loved how everything came full circle at the end of the trilogy and how Bertie fully discovers her powers and what she truly is capable of. The ending is a, I feel, happy ending, but mostly because I knew it was going to happen this way.
Overall, a most amazing trilogy and I look forward to reading more of Lisa Mantchev's work! :)

Spoiler
As much as people like to think it's a love triangle between Nate, Bertie and Ariel, I didn't agree because while Bertie loved the guys somewhat equally, Ariel's heart was always for his freedom and I don't think Bertie would have been able to live with that. Although, I did tear up at the part when Ariel talked about Bertie's unwanted child having silver hair.Overall, a most amazing trilogy and I look forward to reading more of Lisa Mantchev's work! :)

I loved this series. This book is beautifully written and highly imaginative. As well as very humorous on the part of the fairies. The cover art of these books is what initially what drew me to read these books.
