The audiobook narrator has the most offensively terrible, fake, and inconsistent accent my native Texan ears have ever heard. I think Louisianans would be pissed. I know I am.

The book was just okay. There wasn't anything especially compelling about it and the love story felt especially forced. Catfishing is never cool, kids.

Sure this was a quick read and pretty well paced but it wasn't all that intriguing. There wasn't much of a twist to the mystery and the ending wasn't all that satisfying.

Maybe more 3.5 but I haven't read enough YA murder mysteries lately. Overall, pretty good! Like a high school Law and Order, complete with preppy rich kids, one of whom committed the murder but they're all shady, a DA who wants to do the right thing, and lots of twists and turns along the way and when I finish it, I'm fairly satisfied. I agree with another reviewer who felt the ending sort of petered out and was totally unrealistic, but overall this was pretty good. Kate wasn't some super sleuth, she made a lot of mistakes, and she had to ask her friends for help. Pretty good.
