finished the anime, came to the source material because there's SO MUCH TO DEVOUR 😮‍💨

i think bc the light novel is really episodic, it fits the anime/tv show format a lot better. i felt myself skimming some parts mostly bc i already knew what was going to happen, but it's nice to see how closely the anime followed in adapting this series 😌 can't wait for s2 in 2025 and to binge the rest of the series ehehe

 I had been planning to read this for a while but then they suddenly made an anime so I felt that was a sign of god urging me.

A light and enjoyable read! I found Maomao and Jinshi both pretty funny and enjoyed their interactions. The mystery wasn’t super compelling but the characters were interesting enough to make up for it.
