A definite must-read if you're a fan of Scalzi even if i don't think it's near his best work. His depiction of the alien race is very unique and ridiculous, which feels very much his style.

The ending of this book is deeply stupid.

Not sure if this was free or I bought it, I think it was free. Very entertaining idea. Clearly I don't know as much about Hollywood as the author, but I did catch most of the jokes. Wheaton did a pretty decent job narrating. The most unique part was scalzi coming up with the communication by smell concept. Very original

Really maybe this should be 4 stars. I can't decide. It was cute and ultimately fulfilling, but a tad superficial throughout. As a first novel, it's 4 or 5 stars, but among everything else, only 3. I'm not unhappy I read it, but I likely won't revisit.
