Summary: A Hassled Guy’s Guide: How to Deal defines the concept of conflict, identifies types of everyday conflicts, and offers readers solutions for handling those conflicts.

Evaluation: A Hassled Guy’s Guide is a well written realistic look at conflict in the lives of tween and teens. I would put this book in the hand of every boy I know. The conflicts presented in this book are realistic and will be familiar to reader… conflicts with parents, friends, during sporting events, and teachers. Rather than being didactic, the language is user friendly and written in a conversational style. Chapters are short and include portions that are sectioned off and written in list style…. “Guys top 5 conflict starters between friends,” “Science says,” Peer mediation ground rules,” and many more.
This book will work well with groups and individuals. Since the topic is identifying and resolving conflict, this book would make a helpful addition to classroom curriculum for tweens and teens. While this book may not be picked up by a guy on his own, parents/caregivers, school librarians, and public librarians will want to make sure this book is part of the collection. Excellent book!
